Palestine Peoples Party visits Cuba
A delegation from the Palestinian Peoples Party (PPP), led by its coordinator Fuad Basel H. Rasek, officially visited CubaAccording to Granma newspaper the group was also made up of president of the Committee for Palestine Peace and Solidarity Akel M. Tapaz and PPP representative for Latin America Khaled Salama.
During their stay the visitors expressed concern for the future of their people and said that the United States and Israel do not want to find a fair and lasting solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Another issue was the need to revitalize the Organization for Palestine Liberation starting with internal reforms and elections to create a new Palestinian National Council.
They also talked about the difficult situation of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, constant murders and arbitrary imprisonment, discrimination and humiliation, while Israel keeps creating and extending its settlements.
They told press of their satisfaction with contributing to develop and strengthen relations with Cuba on this visit.They appreciated the constant demonstration of solidarity of the people and government here with the cause of the Palestinian people and reiterated their condemnation of the blockade imposed by United States for almost half a century.They also demanded immediate release of the Five Cuban antiterrorists imprisoned in US jails since September 12, 1998.
