Smuggling Mexicans into USA grows
Smuggling Mexicans into the United States increased from 15 percent in 1995 to 50 percent in 2007, as revealed by the CONAPO (National Population's Council).According to a CONAPO report, illegal people trade has been increasing proportionally in relation to harshened border control by the US side, making that illegal way of migrating unsafer each day.
The Council recalled that the city of Tijuana, in the Baja California state, used to be the favorite place, regarding people smuggling, but now the region with greater incidence is the dangerous Sonoran desert.
According to the report, four of every 10 Mexicans that try the secret journey to the United States do it through that inhospitable area.Official reports reveal one average death per day, during attempts to cross the border line between both countries.
The CONAPO also warned that social organizations to protect immigrants have also decreased, especially in the surrounding areas of Sonora's desert, turning more dangerous the path to US territory.
