Venezuelan elections go electronic
The Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE) installed a sample of the technological system it will use in the coming elections as part of a modernization of this important activity.
The exhibition is part of the Inter American Meeting of Experts and Representatives of Electoral Entities of the Organization of American States (OAS).As part of a prior event, the CNE headquartered in the ALBA hotel in Caracas used several spaces for demonstrations to participants of automated systems created for the coming elections.
The exhibition demonstrated Electoral registries, of Political and Contender Institutions, of Branch Selection Institutions, Electronic Notebooks, Voting systems, Reception and Emission of Results.
The meeting will be run by CNE president Tibisay Lucena, who foresees an exchange of opinion on modernization and use of election technologies in the region.Also expected are conferences by the director of the Department for Cooperation and Election Observation of the OAS general secretary, Pablo Gutierrez and the ambassador to that international institution, Jorge Valero.
