The arrival of Russian tourists to Cuba increased by four percent in 2007, with over 30,000 visits, Cuban Deputy Tourism Minister Alexis Trujillo affirmed Wednesday in the Russian capital.
The minister, who is on a Russia working visit to strengthen links with tour operators and airline managers, said conditions for increasing arrival of Russian tourists to Cuba have been created.
Interviewed by Prensa Latina, Trujillo highlighted there are Russian businesspeople interesting in investing in the Cuban sector, and some negotiations are in an advanced phase.
Russian investments on the Island are expected to materialize this year, which will positively influence on the number of visitors from that country, he stated.
Asked about the Cuban presence at the fairs Intrumarket and International Hall of Trips and Tourism MIIT-2008 early in March, he affirmed the Island's delegation will be large, and Inturmarket will dedicate a day to Cuba for the first time.
