Ecuador thanks Mexico for Rio help
Mexican President Felipe Calderon said that his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa, thanked him in a telephone call for Mexico´s contribution at the Rio Summit in Santo Domingo, according to a governmental note released on Tuesday.The text adds the two presidents talked on the phone Sunday, when Correa congratulated Calderon for the political stance assumed by Mexico.
The release indicates that in the talk, the Mexican leader expressed satisfaction for the responsibility assumed by the Latin American statesmen in the solution to the Quito-Bogota dispute, after the attack of the Colombian army against Ecuadorian territory."We must keep working to improve the regional situation and in that effort, you can count on Mexico,' Calderon told Correa, according to the note.
