Chile presents documentary on Ernesto Che Guevara


The documentary "Carbine M2, an American Weapon, Che in Bolivia" was presented with the thoughts and actions of Ernesto Che Guevara by its director Carlos Pronzato (Argentine) in Santiago, Chile on Wednesday.

The film portrays the ideas and actions of Che Guevara in the Bolivian jungles and his permanence in the popular memory and the academic, intellectual, cultural and political world.

Carlos Pronzato, now living in Brazil, said in a recent press interview that testimonies by guerrillas who fought with Che Guevara and soldiers who took part in his capture are included in the film.

Pronzato is also the author of an essay "From Che to Evo" on the attitude of current Bolivian President Evo Morales regarding Che Guevara, and he considers that Che has a lot of relevance for Bolivian students.The name of the film refers to the weapon with which Che was executed on October 9, 1967.

The original music for the film was written by Piero, and presented in the southern Chile Temuco and Valdivia music festivals
