Cuban musician honors Buena Vista Social Club


Cuban singer songwriter Eliades Ochoa paid tribute in Galicia to the musicians who accompanied him a decade ago in the unforgettable experience that was the CD Buena Vista Social Club.
In statements in La Coruña, the Galician city where he will perform on Thursday, the Cuban musician honored "those who are not with us anymore and who were my partners and teachers in that unforgettable experience."
Ochoa is on an international tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the world-renowned Buena Vista Social Club.
The record was an international hit that sold more than ten million copies and won a Grammy Award.
The musicians who participated in the project and passed away are Compay Segundo, Pio Leyva, Ruben Gonzalez, Ibrahim Ferrer and Manuel Licea (Puntillita).
